First, I have a fairly large TV and a fairly large living room that I put the TV in. When I got my dreamcast, I couldn't sit on the couch in front of the TV because the controller cord was too short. I realize not everyone has that much of a space difference between your TV and where you sit, but its sure a lot more comfortable to sit on the couch rather than on the floor because thats how long the cord will let you go. While six feet may not sound like that much more distance, it sure feels like it. If you want to play further away from the TV, you also have another option...you can just move the Dreamcast half way between you and the TV, but that may end up getting in the way.
