I was a fan in Ubisoft Formula One Racing Simulation and Monaco Grand Prix. Sometime I raced the whole full game (70+ laps on some courses), which took 2 hours non-stop. My wife called me crazy.
Anyway, because of the game, I was shopping for a Force Feedback wheel. At that time, CNET gamecenter has a comparison on various FF wheel on the market, including the Act Labs, Microsoft, Logictech and few others. They highly recommend this wheel, and say it works very well with Formula One Racing Sim.
So I went ahead and bought it. I didn't disappoint. The force feedback effect is very realistic, and it really enhance my experience with the game. The build of the wheel is sturdy. I like the leather feel. The gear shift, buttons are all easily accessible.
So far, I've tried it with F1 Sim, Monaco Grand Prix, NFS3, NFS1 (no force feedback, just self centering), and Ultimate Race Pro. It works best with F1 Sim and Monaco Grand Prix. It makes me have a better feel and control on the car handling.
I don't really like NFS3 and Ultimate Race Pro much, and the wheel does not help much either. However, playing with NFS1SE, which is my favourite NFS game, it works pretty well, even though no FF effect.
I also bought a catridge adapter for my Dreamcast. I was kinda disappointed with that because there's no self-centering effect. Playing with a wheel that is loose and no self centering does not feel natural at all. I don't recommend buying that catridge.
Another weak point on the wheel is the pedal. Though the feel of the pedal is nice, it slips on my carpet.
Overall, if you're willing to shell out $100+ for a wheel, I think this is the one to go.
