I know for a fact that epinions can be a major factor in people deciding on making purchases. At least they are for me.
I just recently bought a Canon Bubble Jet printer so I did not need a new one. I have a problem with the prices that are charged for the refills for these printers. No matter how good a deal you get on the printer, and a lot of times you do get very good deals. Why, because they make so much money off of the cartridges.
Refills for both of the printers that I have had cost around $35.00, I thought that I would beat that by using ink refills for my Lexmark, that ruined my printer. So I bought a Canon, it was a good printer and I was happy with it, but the cartridges for it were going to cost more then I like to spend on a comment.
When I read a review about this printer, I knew that I had to have it. I went and searched the web and saw that it was on sale for $99.00 and I then went and got a Coupon for $20.00 off of $50.00
With free delivery. So I got this printer for the outstanding price of $79.00 delivered right to my door.
Installation was a snap. I took it out of the box and removed the strapping tape from the printer case. Plugged it into the computer. Inserted the 1 Black Ink Cartridge Holder in and then the holder for the Three color cartridges. Then inserted the one black cartridge into the proper slot and the three colors into the proper slot in the holder provided for that.
After doing that I inserted the paper tray, paper and paper guide. Closed the cover and it did about a two minute ink primer. I then uninstalled my old printer and installed this new one. I was not read to print out a test page. The test page printed out perfect and I then proceeded to print out a picture. This to me would be the real test for this printer.
The picture printed out beautifully and if I had printed it out on picture paper, I could have framed it. It was that impressive. My son was here when I did the test print of the picture and he is going to get one of these too. He doesn’t need a new printer either. That is how good this printer is.
I like everything about this printer but the main selling feature for me was #1. The money that I will save on ink. Most printers that have cartridges have the three ink colors in them, or four if you have one that does not require a separate one for printing black. If you run out of just one of those colors, you have to replace the entire cartridge. Even if all the other ones are full, ½ full or whatever. $30.00 down the drain or however much you have been spending for your cartridges. With this one. If you run out of yellow, you replace the yellow, Or if you run out of blue, you replace only the blue. At a price considerably less then what you would pay for an entire ink cartridge. You can get the ink refills for around $10.00, cheaper if you use coupons.
Some of the features that are listed on this printer are: True to Life Photo quality color, crisp laser like black, 1200 x 1200 dpi, It prints up to 10 ppm black and 6ppm color,. This printer will hold up to 150 sheets of paper, print on plain paper, transparencies, envelopes.
The set up disc is just that, a set up disc. It does not come with a bunch of sample programs that turn out to be worthless. This printer is good enough for a business printer and reasonable enough for home use.
I love this printer and I am so happy that I read lotus’s review on it. He sells these things. If I ever have a problem with this, I can always get support from Xerox and if I need them to come and get the printer they will bring me a new one and take this one when they come to bring the new one. I don’t see how you can go wrong on this deal. If you need to get someone something nice for Christmas, this bargain cannot be beat.
I am updating this printer review because unfortunately my printer fell on the floor and broke (I thought) so I immediately looked at ebay and got another one.
Since I am not selling on Ebay most of the time, I need to print 10 times more then I ever did before. When my pringer dropped on the floor and broke I was heart broken. Well not quite. I had another printer here a new one that came with my new computer but it was using up ink like it was going out of style. That is why they sell the other printers so cheap and give them away with computers. They make all the money off the ink that you have to buy for them.
This one you only have to change the one color when it runs out not the whole cartridge It warns you what color is low and you can still print out plenty after you get the warning.
If you want one of these the cheapest place that I have found to get them is at ebay. They sell them New in the box and also the refurbished ones that have the same guarantee on them as the new ones.
As a foot note, my other printer was not broke. It had a styrofoam peanut stuck in it. My son uses it all the time and he loves it. My daughter still has the one that I bought for her for Christmas and she still uses it and loves it.
