I know this seems like a stupid title for a review written on Naptster, but a reason for it does actually exist. For anyone who grew up in the TNBC era with Saved By the Bell and California Dreams you know that this is the first line from the NBC Saturday morning television show California Dreams. I absolutely loved this show, especially the music. It is virtually impossible to find this CD anywhere -- I’ve looked. When I heard about Napster, I figured that it couldn’t hurt checking. I couldn’t believe it! Not only was the theme song on there, but several of my favorite songs from this show.
One of the complaints people have about Napster is that it infringes on the music industry. For some songs, I have to agree because why buy an entire CD if you only like one song? However, for those of us that like older songs that are nearly impossible to find anywhere, Napster is great. Not only was I able to download California Dreams, but Joey Lawrence (whose CDs are also all but impossible to come by) and great songs such as Glory of Love, I Miss the Rain and many more.
While there remains room for improvement, Napster is off to a great start. Some songs may take a long time to download, depending on your connection, how far away the connection is and how many people are on. Like all technology, Napster can be fickle, but it’s worth the songs you’ll find.
Napster is compatible with anything,at least as far as I know. I have an iMac and Napster works beautifully on it. Use a Destiny Media Player with it and you’ll have CD quality music right on your computer -- of songs you never thought you’d hear again!
