RollerCoaster Tycoon Expansion Park by Hasbro is a challenging, fun, but complex internet game. The game teaches business skills and math problems.
You build your own amusement park where you are the owner. You start with an undeveloped piece of land. You are responsible for design and maintenance. You build the rides, concession stands, restrooms, decorations, paths, trees and you hire the workers to fix the rides. Then you have to inspect their work to be sure it meets the qualifications of safety. You hire the staff to run the food stands and keep the entire park clean.
You do the money management and you click on the visitors so you can know what they think of your park. Some might think that it needs more kiddie rides, the park is not clean enough, the food is too expensive.
The object is to keep an eye out for the trends, then you change things accordingly. This game of skill develops the mind to keeping a budget, hiring different people if their performance is not up to par and seeing what rides need to be eliminated or changed in design, structure, etc.
A child's development in this day of high technology is very important in choosing software that is not only fun but helps to develop their skills. Rollercoaster Tycoon helps the child develop skills by using his/her mind in a constructive way and at the same time they will have fun in the process.
The sounds of the amusement parks adds to the fun because it makes you feel you are right there in your very own park that you designed and managed yourself.
There are 5 scene designs that you choose from and as the park succeeds, a dozen more scenes will appear to choose from. There are 14 different rollercoaster styles that can be constructed in unlimited configurations and dozens of other rides (carousels, haunted houses, etc.)
This CD Rom is appropriate for children 10 and up due to its complexity. (but don't be surprised if a younger child takes an interest.) The price I paid was $25.99, not a bad investment for hours of educational fun and excitement
Their is a website to visit on tips on how to play the game~~www.rollercoastertycoon.com. Please be aware that this site changes daily so you can refer to it from time to time.
Test your skill at being an amusement park whiz by buying this game for yourself and you'll find your child taking an interest quickly and mastering this game probably faster than you did. LOL
