| elmoebeesn's Full Review: Palm m100 Personal Organizer |
I recently have been very interested in PDA's and have noticed that the price of some of these units has been dropping fairly dramatically recently. This is usually the case as technology ages, and I have been waiting for the prices of these units to drop for some time. Needless to say, I was very happy to see this unit come out not long ago for the low price of only 149 dollars. In fact, I have even known individuals to find the Palm m100 on sale for as low as $99. This is truly an amazing price and there is no telling how far the prices will continue to fall in the future. Certainly there are more great attributes to the Palm m100 other than the low price and it is important that I go in to them as well.
The first thing that stands out is the fact that this unit is extremely small. It weighs a whopping 4.4 ounces which is not even close to half a pound. This makes for great portability and furthermore the unit will also fit into the shirt pocket of most people. The screen comes in a standard black and is very easy to read and navigate. Other colors are available to the user at a cost of only 20 dollars; however, unless you are extremely partial to a certain color then black is fine.
The Palm m100 has all the standard features that we are accustomed to such as a to-do list, organizer, address book, and writing mode. This is where the user can write in his/her own handwriting and look at it on screen. This feature customarily works a bit like an Etch a Scketch; however, this unit can save letters in the users own handwriting and send them out later. Also, this unit can connect to many news and entertainment channels using Hyper-Synch technology which costs an extra 30 dollars. If you are constantly in need of the most recent information while you are on the go then this feature may be for you. Finally, I have noticed that many of these units are very prone to screen scratches and the like; however, I have found this unit to be sturdy and thus far scratch free. A carrying case is also available at an extra cost if the user feels the need for added protection.
All in all, this is a great PDA at a very low price. There is even talk of a digital camera hook-up being made available in the near future. If you are in need of putting a little organization in your life or at least want to improve on this characteristic, then this may be the unit for you.
