AIM and AOL have connected people throughout the world with their Instant Messaging system. The system is Easy, Fun and, totally Free. When you down load AIM off the Internet at www.aol.com it is extremely easy to get started. The most important part of the system is finding out which friends and family members have AIM so that you can put them on your buddy list. A buddy list is a LIST that contains all the people you would want to talk too. When you add a buddy to this list, the buddy will either appear in the offline category of the online category that you can rename to anything you desire. When you have your buddy list set up you are ready to get started "IM'ing" them. When a buddy gets online you can see him/her pop up on your list or you can turn on the buddy sounds and hear him/her enter. The buddy sounds are a great feature when you are in the other room and wish to hear when a buddy logs on or not. There are many other cool features that AIM offers.

You can create a Profile so other users can see what you are like.

You can create your own font to your liking.

You can TALK to the person if you have a microphone and speakers.

You can put on AUTO AOL so it starts up when u restart your computer.

You can read your email from AIM.

You can create Fun screen names for different family members.

You can play games with a buddy or start a large room buddy chat.

You can have Away messages when you leave your computer.

Overall the AIM system is extremely fun and can be enjoyed by all ages even from grandma to grandson. It is a great way to stay in touch with family and friends who live out of state. I recommend getting AIM if you sound the least bit interested because I promise you will enjoy every minute you spend talking to your friends.
