Pros:free, easy to set-up and maintain, lots of features, branded to your site.
Cons:none
Everyone.net offers people with their own domain name to give away free web-based e-mail accounts.
They allow the domain owner to open a free account, and set-up an e-mail site, such as Hotmail, or Yahoo. The only difference is that this e-mail site is your own domain, and is hosted remotely at everyone.net. How can everyone.net provide this kind of service for free to webmasters? Well, they share fifty percent of the banner ad impressions with you. The other fifty percent, everyone.net keeps for themselves. This allows you to give away free web-based e-mail to your site visitors for free.
Every e-mail address comes with six megabytes of storage, filters to block spam and unwanted e-mail, up to 3 attachments can be sent with each e-mail, an address book that allows you to have multiple contacts formed together into groups, signatures, new e-mail notification sent to an alternate e-mail account, allows you to use aliases on your outgoing mail, allows html markup in your e-mail messages, and also provides search and help sections.
The e-mail layout is very flexible, allowing the site owner to change colors, fonts, buttons, layouts, and other features to make the site feel like your own. Every change to your e-mail portal is done through everyone.net's 'control center'. The control center allows you to make all the necessary changes to your e-mail portal, as well as check your site statistics, see and manage all your current users, mail all your users, change banner ads and set-up your own forwarding accounts.
The forwarding accounts are great, you can have an unlimited amount of e-mail addresses forwarded to one e-mail address. So if you want the e-mail addresses "sales@mydomain.com, information@mydomain.com, webmaster@mydomain.com" forwarded to one e-mail box, it can be all done in a few easy steps.
You are allowed to add your own stationary to customize the backgrounds in all of your e-mail pages, and add text to the pages that are seen by your users, the login page, welcome page, copyright notices, etc.
I have been using everyone.net for a little over 4 months and have found it to be a very useful service. It is extremely easy to customize your e-mail site through the control center. Any product that you can manipulate to attract more users to return to your site day after day is well worth the time it takes to implement the service. You can not only have your own domain hosted at everyone.net, but also can setup an account like "MyWebsiteName.everyone.net" where the e-mail addresses of your users would be "yourName@mywebsitename.everyone.net". If you later buy a domain name, you can "graduate" your current "MyWebsiteName.everyone.net" e-mail service to that of the domain service.
Overall, I'm sure you will be pleased to offer your visitors a free web-based e-mail account, one in which they will return to time and again.
