Pros:nice machine
Cons:this and that
Early reviews of the iBook have focused almost exclusively on the design and aesthetics of it. Well, fair enough I say, but that's about the least useful thing you can say about a product of this type. Why? Well, because that's the most elemental thing about it, and anyone can judge if they like the looks themselves. You don't need to read 20 reviews of this machine to know if you like the looks or not! You can go to CompUSA and check it out in person, or go through the numerous magazine pullous with it in it.
Let's talk then about the machine itself! As far as value-for-money I would rate my iBook just about at the same level as powerbooks I have used recently. iBook is being marketed as a huge departure from the current Powerbook line, but really it only is cosmetically. It's basically a somewhat less featured powerbook G3 for somewhat less of the price.
As for whether it's worth getting this or a PC, that's a crazy thing to review based on. It's such a matter of personal taste. MacOS and Windows98 are so close these days it's hardly worth arguing over nitpicky little points, anyone who really is interested in buying a notebook should really go and try a few out. a notebook is far more inherently physical than a workstation, and to judge it on pictures and specs is only cheatin yourself.
