Last year, before I left for college my dad bought my a Dell Inspiron 7000 C466LT. At first I thought he had gone a little overboard, because I wasn't sure I needed such a powerful machine for college. Well, three years into college, I can't imagine what life would be like without this great machine. I have to be honest, I'm not very technically knowledgeable about the machine, but I do know that it's 10 gigs of hard drive really does come in handy. I put everything on this baby, all class and lecture notes from the past four years, multimedia presentations, in addition to all my articles for the school newspaper, and the papers which I write weekly for class. Another thing is that the one time I did have a problem, the Dell folks were really helpful with helping me work through the problem, so they get a thumbs up for that. Also, I've become a computer game geek. But hey, if you had a seventeen inch screen wouldn't you be playing video games with quality graphics? I take the computer to class every other week, and usually I will always take it to the library with me as well. It's easy to plug into my school network, no matter where I am on campus. This is nice because I'm not tied down like I would be with a desktop. The Dell Inspiron 7000 has afforded me a great deal of flexibility, making the work load much easier to bear. Now the cost is relatively high, but the use that a high school or college kid will get out of this computer is enormous. This is really an incredible machine, and I think it is a must have for any college kid.
