My system is actually the 750r, instead of the 700r, but is not listed on the review options.
My own system came from Dell's refurbished department, where it had been upgraded by someone who previously ordered it to include a DVD rom, and 192 megs of RAM instead of the usual 128 megs. This made a big difference on machine use.
The DVD rom plays movies flawlessly. Having a Trinitron monitor included with the system only made the DVD that much better. Though software makers are sluggish to get many DVD software titles out, it will be used for those when they're ready. The extra RAM is welcome, as I use a digital camera and digicam on my system, and it helps speed things up a bit. The RAM does however, seem to be "special" in nature, which has baffled generic RAM makers like Kingston, who's brand seems to not work at all in this Dell. Other than that, there have been no hardware problems at all, and the system delivers good speed on games, work utilities, and video.
The lack of any USB ports on the front of the machine may be a concern to some, especially if like myself, you use a special desk where your tower is on the floor, backed up into a corner. Dell is not known for jumping on the bandwagon on front-USB ports.
Calls to Dell's customer service department overall have been very good. Nine out of ten times I've gotten through quickly, and have spoken to extrememly knowledgeable people. There was one dope head I reached, and a couple of 15+ minute hold times, but that is not the norm, so I won't take away points for it.
Like all computers, this particular model is no longer being sold, but the "Dell Dimension" series is. Well worth the money, especially if you monitor their site for their "free shipping" weeks that pop up every so often.
