| oaklandfan's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 22 Computer Speakers |
I purchased my Altec-Lansing speakers about two months ago in order to replace my old speakers which died out. I bought the Altec-Lansing ACS22 because of the cheap price. I ordered them from buy.com for only $22. While I was looking for a new set of speakers, I wanted speakers that were small, effective and cheap. The Altec Lansing ACS22 met all of my needs.
Since I live in a college dormatory room, I don't have a lot of deskspace to work with. Each of the two ACS22 speakers are only about 3 inches wide and take up a very small amount of deskspace. Not only are these speakers space efficient but they are lightweight. I'd say that each is around 2 pounds.
The ACS22 is an effective speaker. Due to the lack of a subwoofer, the bass isn't the best. However, the overall speakers get loud. The Altec Lansing ACS22 come with a volume dial on one of the speakers which allows easy volume control with the simple turn of a knob. Also on the face of the speaker is a power button. A bass and a treble adjuster don't exist there isn't a subwoofer nor is there a jack for a subwoofer. But keep in mind that speakers under $30 usually almost never have subwoofers.
The Altec Lansing ACS22 is one of the cheapest brand-name speakers on currently on the market. I bought mine from buy.com for only $22 + shipping and handling. Most office retailers such as Office Depot and Staples carry the ACS22 for around $29.99- which usually makes it the cheapest speakers in stock at these respective stores. If you want a quality set of speakers at a super-low price then the Altec Lansing ACS22 is it!
