| mark603's Full Review: Dell Inspiron 7000 A400LT |
I love this Dell. It is a 7000 w/128mb ram and DVD. I had a Inspiron 3500 and this is what makes Dell head and shoulders above the rest. The 3500 was messing up. AFter they couldn't fix it, I sent it back one more time. They lost it!!!!! They sent me the Inspiron 7000 with every available option (at the time). I haven't had the first problem with it until three weeks ago. I DROPPED IT. The case cracked and so did I.
I called Dell on Friday at 5:30pm and told them I dropped it. Their first words, no problem and said ship it overnight (using their account and at their expense). I handed it to the shippers at 6:00pm Friday (they boxed it and everything). Much to my surprise I had it back Tuesday AM looking brand new.
Before buying a computer accept the fact your going to have problems. In fact I guarantee it. I have had a computer since 1979, beginning with the Commodore Pet. Everyone of them breaks eventually. When you buy a computer avoid the obvious temptations to compare apples-apples. Instead BUY BASED ON WARRANTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Because the processor and ram are useless if your 'pooter doesn't work. Dell's break just like Compaq, HP, Gateway, etc... Its how nice they repair them that has me on my third one and ready for another. Try them and see if you don't agree.
