I used to be a Gravis user and was happy. When it came to to get a new controller, I chose this one. I chose it because I have used Microsoft input devices in the past and was pleased with them. The $10 rebate also helped in my decision.
I brought it home and plugged into the USB port. I popped in the CD. Within a couple minutes, I was using the stick. It was totally simple to install and learn to use.
Most of my games directly support this stick by name. Although, there is keyboard emulation for games that don't support this stick directly, all the games I like to play (i.e. Bleem, and Baseball 2001) list the stick by name and require no pre-configuration.
The directional pad has two different modes. The proportional mode acts like an analog stick, which is great for flying games, if you don't own a flight stick. The standard mode acts like a standard digital game pad, which also makes it good for arcade-type games.
This is, by far, the best game pad I've seen. I would recommend it to gamers and would even buy it again myself. It's been trouble free and I've been happy.
