| lilbigblue's Full Review: Panasonic KXL-RW10A |
I have used many cd-rewriters for my computer in the past 2 years. Since the summer of 1998, I have managed to use and destroy 4 cd-recordable/rewritable drives for my computer. I have been using my Panasonic 8x4x32 CW-7586 CD-RW for about 2 months now, and I am quite pleased. My very first burner was also a Panasonic brand, but that one only last 6 months. Hopefully my current burner will last longer. Anyway, it's great having a fast burner now. I used to be able to create my cds in 40 minutes/20 minutes...now I can make cds in just under 10 minutes.
The burner package included all the instructions to install the drive into my computer, the audio cable, and Adaptec Easy CD-Creator Software. I paid a very reasonable price with an online retailer and had the drive in my hand in 3 days.
Of all the recorders I have used the past 2 years, this was the cheapest and most reliable. My 2nd burner, made by Yamaha, was a disappointment. It was not supported by most programs and it always produced "coasters," or bad cds, but it did last for 1 year. My 3rd burner, which i purchased as a refurbished unit, was another mistake. It almost lasted half a year. No matter what you do, NEVER purchase ANY refurbished computer parts. You may be saving money, but it's not worth the investment. You may as well pay full price for something that will last twice as long.
