Prizecentral.com is yet another site aiming to attract on-line gamers and gamblers. Like many other sites, you "win" some sort of points that can be cashed in for prizes. The site has advertisements on it that are mainly other free gambling sites. And once registered, you are subject to e-mail advertisements as well.
I have to rate Prizecentral.com as "so-so" as far as these type of sites go. It gets a higher rating, largely due to the quality of the games. Most of the games are your typical casino games and space invader type games. The graphic quality is nice and most have realistic sound effects. I play the slots and their graphic quality and spinning wheels are every bit as good as those "pseudo" computerized slot machines that are found in casinos. The high graphics quality does result in a somewhat slow download time, depending on your modem speed.
You get a bonus of 50 tokens when you register, then accumulate more tokens as you play. You can play any game as long as you like and can "cash out" any time. Even if you cash out, you can immediately begin play again. When you cash out, the site keeps track of your token count. Payoffs vary and are based on the amount of points you have when you cash out.
Now here's the catch. Also like many similar sites, accumulation of tokens can be agonizingly slow. And accumulation of enough points to redeem them for anything can be extremely slow, since some of the nicer items need 2,500 tokens or more. Most games only pay off one or two or five to ten tokens at a time. One way to try to get more tokens is to use the ones you have to enter drawings for large amounts of tokens. Another way is to read those e-mails that you signed up for--there are many opportunities to get 20 or 30 or 40 tokens at a time by reading various ads. This is similar to the way MyPoints.com works. It still might take awhile.
The prizes include certificates for books, CDs, DVDs, flowers, hotel accommodations, software, trips, clothing, jewelry, and much more. The prizes seem to be well worth it, if you can get enough tokens. I have yet to redeem tokens, so I can't verify whether you actually get what you won. I do know that they have diligently kept track of my tokens. In short, I would visit this site if you just want to have some fun. If you build up enough tokens for a prize, that's great. But most people probably do not have the time it takes to make this site really pay off.
