I got Net Zero as a temporary replacement after I moved out of an area that had Cable Modem access. I'm not about to compare Cable with Dialup, but I had mixed results with Net Zero in my area. At first I was getting very good connection speeds, usually right at 33,000. I also was having no trouble connecting even in the evenings. That lasted about 3 weeks. Suddenly my connection speeds were in the 20's and below, and it took many tries to get on without a busy signal. Once on, I began experiencing dropped calls very regularly. Additionally, and this may have been my imagination, the advertisement window got larger that it was when I began using Net Zero. I think free ISPs are great for a lot of people, and I intend to try a few more. But I can't recommend Net Zero in the Metro Detroit area. It's just too clogged now.
