Pros:Ease-of-use, easy-to-access, solid filters and great address book
Cons:Multiple windows open up in browser when logging in/exiting the service
USA.Net is the most flexible, easy-to-use web-based email application available. As a small business owner, I find the features and convenience of USA.Net surpass all of the free email services. I feel confident enough in USA.Net to use my account primarily for business use. This service is easy-to-use, convenient and offers many features for those who want either a personal or business email access via the Web.
Everyone is mobile these days, especially those of us who have to run our own home-based business. It is easy to access USA.Net at most times during the day, so the service availability is solid. If you log in to your account on a public terminal, you have the option of expiring page views (for added security) and to disable cookies. This has been useful to me when browsing at work or in a public place, and you don't want someone to read your inbox by clicking the "back" button on your browser. Many services do not offer these security features, especially not Web-based email services.
Besides the security, I like the simple, easy-to-use interface. It doesn't bombard you with gaudy advertisements, and the filters work wonderfully. Unlike my old Hotmail account, I don't receive unsolicited emails any more, and the excessive adult/"I can make you rich"-type messages are non-existent. I know that I am not going to get a lot of garbage messages that clutter up my inbox. I like the efficiency and accuracy with which the filters work. And they are not very difficult to configure either.
Along the left hand pane on your browser, all the options are listed, including a new one in which you may send personalized greetings. The window for composing email is easy accessible, provides ample area, and allows you to choose your own choice of fonts. You may also setup a signature very easily, which is handy for the small-business owner. The script is easily customizable and very professional looking.
The address book is wonderful! You have the option to import/export address books from several major email programs, which is convenient for those of who have multiple email accounts. You may establish a contact with such info as email, pager number and the like. This is a useful feature, and I may access it at any time, anywhere. Mobile business travelers who have forgotten an address will find this especially useful.
The only negative thing that I have to say about NetAddress is that when I log in and out, multiple windows open up on my browser, instead of just one. Sometimes when logging out, the second window will not close, or it will automatically try to access another site. But, aside from this minor inconvenience, I would highly recommend this Web-based email service to both personal and business users.
