I purchased my HP Pavillion in'98. I couldn't have picked a better one. I am not an expert or anything but this computer was a great investment for me and my children. Great for first time buyers. I chose an HP Pavillion because the price was affordable! It also came with a Microsoft Works software package that I thought was just as good as Microsoft Word. It also had Quicken and Encarta software that me and my children find very educational. An Hp Deskjet 420 printer was in the package too. The printer isn't all that but it gets the job done. I wouldn't recommend the Deskjet 420. Go with something higher. 700 maybe.
I think that is has good graphics and the sound is excellent. So far I haven't had a problem with my computer and I am very satisfied customer. I have recommended it to a family member who has really been having a hard time with his computer, he finally traded it for an HP and he is really happy:-)
