Overall, Yahoo! Mail is pretty good. It allows users to access their e-mail just about anywhere there is a web browser. In fact, I used it to check my e-mail when I was on a business trip in Germany. Also, by using it, I can keep my home e-mail address to myself and keep the SPAM out of that inbox.
It offers a generous 6 MB worth of space for messages, folders, etc. This is more than enough if you check your e-mail regularly and delete those messages that you do not want to keep.
One of the features that I like best is the spelling checker. It displays your entire message and the words that it finds questionable - and will offer suggestions if requested. Not all web based e-mail accounts have this feature.
Also, it has the ability to check POP mail on other accounts. Sadly enough, I haven't gotten this feature to work, but this may just be an issue with my ISP.
I've been using it for a couple of years with only one complaint. Right when I set it up, I didn't sign up for the free newsletters or even send anything out for over a week. I didn't even give that e-mail address out. Within that week, I received 2 pieces of SPAM. How could the SPAMmers have gotten my e-mail address? The only thing that I can figure out is that Yahoo sold it. SPAM on the account has been very light in general, but that one incident makes me wonder. I have a friend that has pretty much the same problem. Kind of makes you think.
