As a devote Netscape user since 1995, this is a very hard opinion to write. I have eagerly waited the last two years for the next level of browser from the Netscape Corp. They have disappointed me worse than a lump of coal at Christmas. The final version of Communicator was touted as a smaller, faster, and 100% compliant browser. The only one they got was the compliance.
As compared to v4.7, it loads much slower. I have loaded it on two separate computers. On one, it starts in twice the time, and the other will not even load it if I have any other programs running. As far as pages loading, it seems to display slightly slower than 4.7 on most pages. I gave up on the email component after using it once. It took almost 10 minutes to read number of messages that I can read in 2-3 on 4.7. And, after trying every setting possible, it wouldn't automatically inform me of new messages.
I am fortunate for one thing that Netscape did right. They allow you to run 4.7 and 6 on the same machine. This is great since I'm going back to the older version, until Netscape can put a product on the market that actually works.
