You'd think by looking at the incredible price for this unit that it is a stripped down machine with few bells & whistles. This is not true of the N505VE. This machine gives more bang for the buck than any other comparably priced unit on the market today. Ilink is included as with most Sony models , for full high speed digital editing and file transfer to another Ilink compatible unit. There is plenty of included software with this system, so there is plenty to keep you busy without spending a fortune buying new software. The display on this as most other Sony computers, is magnificent. No DVD, but plenty of Hard drive storage. You can always spend a few more bucks & obtain a Cd burner and/or DVD drive that will work well with this system. The Celeron processor functions quite well, and you can always upgrade your memory from the included 64 MB to 128 & above with easily obtainable SDRAM modules from any reputable computer dealer. No proprietary memory at a high price required here ! All in all, this machine provides great performance out of the box, and is fully upgradeable and expandable for future requirements. You cannot find a deal any more attractive out there at this price, and the quality of technical support provided is awesome. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone with entry level budget requirements and high performance requirements
