The Montego is a great card, almost professional quality. The sound to noise ratio is impeccable. The sound quality is great. Running into my amp, I hear music in a new depth. The one and only problem with the Montego is it conflicts with VIA chipsets. I used this card with my old motherboard, which has an Intel chipset with a few VIA chips, and the card will install most of the time. Sometimes it will not install, and the only way to fix it is to reinstall Windows and try again. On the other hand, my new Epox motherboard is completely VIA. The Montego would not work with, nor will it ever work with, the Epox board. If you think it will work with your setup, go for it.
Update: The conflict with VIA chipsets is completely VIA's fault. My VIA motherboard also conflicted with my Hauppauge WinTV card. I've since purchased a Super 7 board with an ALi chipset (which I highly recommend) and all my problems are solved.
