I agree with just about everyone's thought on this writer. Although it isn't incredibly fast, it has served me well. I have burned numerous CDs and CD-RWs with this drive with little or no defects. I also love the fact that this drive pretty much installs itself (no disks needed to install the drivers). If you're looking for speed, I suggest you go for the high-end Hewlett-Packard drives (another one that I have used). But the problem with the Hewlett-Packard drives is the difficulty in installing it. Since it comes with built-in software, it gets to be kind of a pain. but if you're looking for a solid writer at an affordable price, this might be the drive for you.
