BEWARE OF COMPAQ

I cannot even begin to express the dissatisfaction that I have had with this company, and my former computer. I started out with a defective 1200XL-118 (the battery terminal wouldnt charge the battery) then moved onto the XL-125 in exchange. 2 weeks later, it was sent off and Compaq replaced the motherboard b/c it was DEFECTIVE. While all along i dealt with a technical support department, that although were friendly, had the computer knowledge of a 5 year old. I would urge that anyone who is considering ANY product from COMPAQ seriously consider the alternatives. And get this, after all of my problems, (and i havent even mentioned them all here) a rep. at the Compaq Corporate Headquarters stated "Compaq doesnt compensate its unhappy customers." They offered me a 30 day extension on my warranty for all the inconveniences. Ever see the movie "Tommy Boy" well,... "you can put a piece of 'poop' in a box, and stick a warranty label on it. but all that you have is a Guaranteed PIECE OF ...Poop!" (so to speak)
Stay away from Compaq. The wonderful people at Circuit City listened to my complaints, and luckilly let me use my credit to put towards a SONY VAIO! If it wasnt for the excellent customer service there, i would still have my piece of junk Compaq!
