When I first got this card I thought "right on... another kick ass 2d/3d card from 3DFX!!" When i first got it out of the box and installed it I was almost giddy from excitement. After I installed it I played around with the driver settings and then tried a game (unreal). Well the game ran faster and the lighting effects were better than my old 3D card (monster 2 8mb).
Later I did a bit more reading up on my new video card and found that there were cards out that had 32 mb of ram instead of the 16 that the 3000 had. I also found out that the Voodoo 3000 only supported 16 bit color. well this kinda ticked me off because i wanted the best!
I later tried a demo of a card with a tnt2 chipset (creative 3D Blaster TNT2 Ultra) and found that it out performed the voodoo 3000 (and 3500) by far.
The Voodoo 3000 is a great card for those of you who just want a in-expensive 3D/2D card. It can do it all. But for those of you who are hardcore gamers, I would suggest at the moment a TNT2 Ultra video card or if you are loaded with cash and you just need the best of everything, go for one of the new Gforce cards.
