Claris homepage is probably one of the easiest programs out there...in fact, it's so easy I'd say it's nearly idiot proof! But, there are some drawbacks to it as well. Here's a brief review of what I liked, what I didn't, and a few comparisions.
Liked:
* The price. This is a modestly priced item. I think I spent $75 on it and if you are a student or teacher you can get a hefty academic discount.
* Nice templates that are REALLY easy to use. Literally build a web page in ten minutes.
* HTML editor that really works. Unlike many other inexpensive wysiwyg's, this html editor will actually let you cut and paste code and/or do some minor behind the scenes work quickly and easily.
* A semi respectable library of clip art and a few other things to use on a quickie web page.
* Kids really like this program. Many schools use it.
* Similar for PC and/or Mac. In fact, I frequently will work on a web page from both while using Claris.
Disliked:
* The link tool requires you to type in the entire url...what's with that?!
* The upload/ftp function doesn't work with equally well.
* The PC/Mac thing I mentioned above it fantastic except it will sometimes loose a bit of font or formating so keep alert to it.
* Not very powerful as a stand alone application. For more advanced users you will graduate soon but this is still really great for a basic user or as a foundation to build on later.
Integration between databases/other is limited. Filemaker is very easy to use but best suited for limited/small applications.
