98 Lawsuit against IBM

Jul 23 '00

As an update to my review IBM go to hell, I did a little researching and digging. For starts, I found an article posted May 17, 1998 from the Register. It talks about the IBM Aptivas and it has an interesting quote from an IBM representative. The Representative states and I quote, "Aptivas are not very good and we don't recommend them.". Can you believe it? IBM knew that they were putting out a lousy computer, but yet that didn't stop them from selling it. I also found another article from PC World News Radio dated February 9, 1998. It talks about the class action lawsuit filed against IBM on behalf of Aptiva owners.
I don't know if the lawsuit is still going on or has already went to court and is over with. However, if anyone wants to get even with IBM for what they did to them, as far as selling them a lousy computer. Then I have the name of the attorney, his email address, and phone number. I will post it in this review. He is Gary Weinstein and you can contact him at gpwein@aol.com and 1-212-524-7767. Let him know about how IBM treated you and what happened to your Aptivas and what IBM didn't do.
All in all, I found this information over the internet by typing IBM complaints into all of the major search engines. I found other complaints about the Aptivas and Thinkpads and the lawsuit plus other enlightening things that I found out about IBM.
For example, in their early years they were charged with violating the Antitrust laws by monopolizing the computer industry. The Dept. of Justice took them to court and won. Too bad, they don't tell all of this in their commercials.
I am urging Aptiva users who were sold an Aptiva that is faulty and treated badly by IBM to call the attorney and the news media and tell them your story. Also file complaints with the NY and your state Attorney Generals' Offices, the Federal Trade Commission, and the BBB. This will be the only way to make IBM accountable for their lousy computers and service.
