My husband ordered this computer from Dell's website. Our old Compaq was becoming too slow for him to play Yahoo! Games. (What is it with men and toys? Never mind, that is another epinion). The service was very prompt, the email came the next day and he confirmed. The computer was shipped to our front door in a week.
It came with a 17 inch monitor, keyboard, mouse, an Altec Lansing stereo system, and a microphone. It has a very fast Pentium III 700 mhz cpu and 64 mbs of ram. The screen is very comfortable to look at considering my old computer had only a 15 inch monitor. I tried out the stereo system with CDs and internet radio. The sound is superb. The woofer and two speakers makes it almost true surround sound. It is very quiet. You can't hear the cpu whirring at all when it is running.
It also came with a decent software package. Windows 98 is preinstalled. The software are Quicken by Intuit, Microsoft works 2000, Microsoft Word 2000, Encarta Encyclopedia 2000, Microsoft Money 2000, Microsoft Picture It 2000, Microsoft Streets and trips 2000, and a large amount of clip art along with Microsoft Home publishing 2000. My daughter finds the Encarta CD very helpful.
My husband also is very satisfied with this computer. He says "ah.. the bliss of playing on this computer!" He is in heaven.
It cost around $2000, ordering from Dell directly with a three year onsite warranty. I think it is well worth it.
