Oscartech is a mess - stick with EpinionsFeb 24 '00 Write an essay on this topic.Oscartech.com is a site similar in idea to Epinions. Authors post "articles" and get paid based on how many people read them. Right now, Oscartech is paying 10 cents per reader per article. After this "bonus" period is over, they will be paying 2 cents per reader per article. Now that bonus Eroyalties have ended on Epinions, I know a lot of people will be tempted to switch over to Oscartech to make more money. This certainly attracted me, but I found that Oscartech is such a mess right now, it is not worth the trouble. The biggest, most annoying thing about Oscartech is that there are very few categories for articles. For example, all articles on "Internet" get put in one long list - there are no further groupings of articles. This makes it really hard to find articles of interest. In Oscartech, the articles at the top of the list are those that have received the highest ratings. These articles get read by the most people, because most people don't scroll down to the bottom of the list. Unfortunately, Oscartech is being abused by so many people, that the articles with the highest ratings are often one-word, useless articles with catchy titles. Oscartech has not yet put minimum word limit for articles, and so I have found very many one word or one sentence articles. I am pretty sure that people are creating multiple accounts and giving their own articles very high ratings, and other people's articles very low ratings, because most of the four-star articles are completely useless, and many two-star articles are pretty good (including, unfortunately, the two articles I posted on Oscartech). This makes it very frustrating, because no matter how good your article is, it may get very low ratings, and then, because it will be at the bottom of the list, no one will read it. If you are thinking of copying your Epinions articles over to Oscartech to make even more money, think again. I looked in the "Terms And Conditions" section of Epinions, and they say that any article you post on Epinions is their property and can not be posted elsewhere. So, at least until Oscartech cleans up its act, stick with Epinions. |
