I traded in an old IBM Think Pad 1512 for this laptop, the first thing I can say about this laptop is that it is much faster than then my old one. It has a 650 Mhrz Intel Celeron Processor with MMX technology and Intel's Speed Step Technology that helps conserve battery life. Speaking of battery life- I get about 3 1/2 hrs with the standard battery- that is of course, doing non-power craving tasks like any Lotus Smart Suite Program or MS Office Program or surfing the internet. Speaking of the internet- this computer has both a 56k V.90 modem and a Eithernet Card. To run down the stats on this computer- it has a 650 Mhrz Intel Celeron Processor, 64 MB of RAM, upgradable to 320 MB, 13.3" measured diagonally, TFT active matrix color display capable of 1280x768 dpi display, Built in 8X DVD-ROM and a 6,000,000 byte hard drive. This computer comes with which i have never seen in laptops- two subwoofers shooting out from the very front of the system- the speakers are under a mesh grill above the keyboard, both of these deliver the sharpest sound I have heard from a laptop before. What i think is a plus about this computer is that it has a S-1 TV connecter jack where they give you a cord which you connect to your TV and you can have your TV be your external monitor- also good for showing presentations during staff meetings. My comments about this machine- great machine- fast plus sleek design make it an ideal computer for home use but i stop short of recommending this machine to business users because of its very poorly designed keyboard- having the home key beside the backspace key is very annoying when you are typing at lighting speeds plus the windows key is where the home and delete key should be and these keys are where the windows key should be; furthurmore there is only one control key and the space bar is half its ideal size.
