This holiday season, I decided to treat myself to a new laptop. After searching and testing several, I chose to purchase the Sony Viao F350. This is an incredible laptop. Mine includes a DVD player and I increased my RAM to 124 mgs over the 64 that it comes with.
If you are looking for a laptop that can act like a desktop this is it. I needed a computer I could work off of while on the road. At about 7 lbs (with DVD) it's not too heavy to lug around, but it has exceptional processing capacity. And I can watch DVD's on the road! The screen is excellent with a clear, bright display and quick refresh rate. Many laptops come with a measly 2.5mg video RAM (like Dell), but Sony doesn't skimp on the details.
There are cheaper laptops out there, which may work better for you if you don't require strong processing power. But if you are looking for a complete solution, this is it. It's replaced my normal desktop without a hitch.
