I bought this computer because I had another Acer notebook that worked well, and because it had a CDRW.
I bought it 4 months ago, and I am delighted of it's performance. It's cheap, but it doesn'lack any feature (12 gb hard disk, modem, ethernet card...). It's more beautiful, and also small, I wouldn't trade it for a 14 or 15 inches monitor notebook (it has a 13.3 display), because they are always much much bigger. The battery lasts for about 5 hours.
The only drawback with this computer is that you don't really get Windows with it, you only get a recovery CD that erases everything on your hard disk when you use it. So you have to find another Windows 98 CD if you want to partition your disk, or if you want your own configuration without all the gadget programs that come with this notebook. It is much more stable and fast now that I put my own Windows with all my programs than with the factory configuration of the recovery cd.
Last but not least, my computer fell from my bag on stone stairs as I was running to catch a train. It made a big metal noise and it now has several scratches, but it still works just as fine.
