Hello, I wanted to write something for all of you out there that are considering buying a notebook computer. I did a lot of research on notebooks and looked at everything I could get my hands on. I decided on the Compaq 1800 for many reasons. For one, the design is great. Accesssing the internet at the touch of a button and being able to program the buttons to your own preferences is cool. The JBL speakers on board really rock and you can play CD's without booting up. The price is another thing I liked. I have too many friends that bought other brands only to find out they sacrificed procssor speed, ram, screen size, and dvd features to get the price where they wanted it. I loaded mine up, 14.1" screen, 600mhz PIII, 96 megs ram, 8X DVD, 8 meg video card, eithernet card, and even came with a printer for $2400. Compact had a promotion of $100 rebate and shipping waver so the taxes were almost eliminated. I have found nothing bad with my Compaq and urge you to buy one. Have fun on the net and don't forget to work a little also.
