To Write Or To Rewrite, That Is The Question.

MicroSolutions BACKPACK cd-rewriter is the all in one package CD peripheral.

- Package includes necessary cables, power supply and software

Originally, I had been searching for an external hard drive to swap between a laptop and a desktop to share information and be portable at the same time. I found it in the MicroSolution BACKPACK - extra hard drive(650MB per disk), external ROM drive, portability.Unfortunately for me, my laptop needs to be upgraded to Win95 in order to use the product. However, I have found it to be the most useful hardware on my desktop.

Rewriting programs and data to a ReWritable makes it easy to transport business information on a CD. Plus, the advantage of writing my own music mixes on CD-Recordables has been a money(and space)saver. No longer do I have to take a stack of my favorite music CD's on the road. I need only take the CD mixes that I have created using the provided software.

Speaking of the software, it is at first hard to navigate through the "easy to use" CD wizard, but once you have made your first CD it all comes naturally. Unfortunately, I have found that in the audio applications it only writes at 2X speed rather than the 4X that is advertised. I also found it easier to copy music and data from the computer's hard drive rather than straight from the Source Disk.
Still, it is very nice to have two CD drives hooked up to the desktop. I frequently use them to run CD programs on one and listen to CD music on the other at the same time. All in all, I have been happy with my choice and purchase of the MicroSolution BACKPACK.
