Perfect Online Storage...if you have a Mac

Apple iDisk is the best online storage product I know of, if you have a Macintosh computer running OS 9. You can add, remove, drag and drop, rename, view, and do everything else you do with iDisk, because your Mac treats it like an ordinary hard disk.
After signing up for Apple iTools, which involves the (small) download and installation of iTools software, and the signing up for an iTools account. with this account, you also get an email account (you@mac.com-very spiffy), your own website (http://homepage.mac.com/you/), and web filtering, all free.
Back to iDisk. After signing up, you go to iDisk (under the iTools tab). A page with a button saying "open my iDisk" appears. You click it, wait a few seconds, and the iDisk appears on your desktop. Inside are the folders where you can store movies, pictures, your website, files you want to allow the public access to, and other documents. To store files in your iDisk, you simply drag the file from somewhere in your normal Mac OS into the appropriate folder. A standard Mac OS copy window will appear, informing you all about the copying. Just like other file copyings in Mac OS do.
Also, the files you drop in the websites folder can be viewed over the world-wide web (http://homepage.mac.com/you/thefile).
However, iDisk is not without flaws. You can't modify the arrangement of the folders within your iDisk. Opening your iDisk involves wading through Apple's slow-to-load website every time you want access. Also, while your Mac is wating for data from the iDisk to show up on your desktop, there are long system lockups, where all you can do is sit and wiggle the mouse around and wonder if your computer hasn't crashed. Also, you can't have your iDisk open for more then 60 minutes, and if you are idle for a while, your iDisk will be disconnected. Then there's the teeny flaw that you can only use it if you have a Macintosh running OS 9.
Other than that, iDisk is the clear choice for online storage if you have a Mac.
