GATEWAY ESSENTIAL 500..Why can't the service be as good as the product??

I just purchased a Gateway Essential 500 Pentium III computer only 3 months ago. I found the computer and it's features were great but the service was extremely poor! I thought it would be a piece of cake to get my system up and running in one evening...well this wasn't possible.
My experience with Gateway's service and support was very disappointing! I was redirected and redirected to the "proper" department and in the end, I had to figure it out myself. Gateway has some decent affordable systems but definitely have some problems with customer service in general. I just hope if I have a hardware problem they will be of some assistance then!
