I had been speaking with my mother for about 3 minutes when her voice just disappeared from my headphones. This was not the first time I had experienced difficulty with Net2Phone's communication backbone. Anyway redialed and what I got in return was a message stating no response from servers. However I was charged an additional $.14 for the call. Not much but when it happens ten times that's a 1 less gallon of gasoline in my car! I tried to access the website but it stated the servers were too busy. I then disconnected and called Customer Service and listened with my speakerphone at a prerecorded message to hold on. That lasted for 45 minutes until I hung up. I'm sure I was next in line though!
The product itself is good however, Net2Phone has not invested enough in its infrastructure and can not handle the number of customers it is trying to obtain. I'm guessing that its customer service can not handle a surge in customer calls either.
Net2Phone brings back memories of AOL when it launched its 1 free month of access and after class action lawsuits were filed AOL release a message recommending off peak hours of usage.
