I bought Myst at a yard sale for $10. I had heard that it was one of the toughest games ever created for the PC and thought that I was getting a real steal. What I got was an incredible first person world navigation game with extremely easy problems. I finished the game in 3 hours.
Myst is, without a doubt, an excellent first person game. The world that is presented to the player is very realistic in its fluidity and the graphics are outstanding, but the storyline for the game is sort of cheesy and the problems that the game player must solve are very simplistic. Most of them are pattern arrangement or mathematical in nature. I had no problem beating this one hit wonder.
Long and short: Great yardsale buy, but definitely not the cult classic it is touted as being.
