| dbodily's Full Review: Intel PC Camera Pack |
The Intel Camera Pack Comes in three different models. The USB, PCI, and PCI with Modem. They all work similarly as far as the camera is concerned.
The USB version is the easiest to install. Install software plug camera into USB port and the camera is automatically setup and ready to and no rebooting the computer.
The PCI version requires a little bit more time to install and more tools. Install the card, boot up the computer install drivers reboot the computer, and if your card has the modem then install the modem and reboot the computer. Once hardware and drivers are installed the camera is ready to go.
The camera comes with Netmeeting which is free from microsoft. This is good software for meeting with groups over the internet. how good the images you see are depends on several factors, speed of computer, type of computer interface the camera is connected to, and the internet connection. The picture although good is often choppy when being viewed over the internet.
the KaiGoo program that comes with the Create and Share program lets you morph your pictures into different shapes and change the image completely.
KaiGoo is a fun program to play with.
The create and share allows you create mpeg files and jpeg files to send in Emails for friends and family. The mpegs are pretty good and the jpegs are very good.
Overall the Intel camera Pack is a good product. This is comparable to or better than other web cam cameras. The Intel Camera Pack garnishes a 4 star rating. because of its ease of use, small compact size, simplicity of installation, and the software that comes with the Camera. the Cameras price depend upon the model purchased the price can range from $129 - $399.
