My husband and I purchased our Dell Inspiron 7500 on the spur of the moment. Well, sort of...we owned a dell desktop, and got tired of taking turns. We decided we needed a laptop. Now we sit side by side, and surf the internet, or whatever floats our boat. We love it!
We had great experiences with Dell in the past, we love our desktop. So we headed over to the Dell Outlet to check out the prices. We ended up buying a refurbished model with a slight cosmetic blemish (a microscopic scratch on the case that took us a while to even locate) and saved 10 percent. Overall we saved about 500 dollars.
We chose a celeron, with 64meg ram, with DVD, and the internal floppy disk drive, and CD rom drive. We have the 15 inch display, and 8 meg video card, which helps quite a bit. The screen is the best deal of all.
The active matrix display rocks!!! It is wonderful, you can rotate the screen just about 180 degrees and still see the screen. It also seems to be crisper than our desktop moniter. I notice this particularly with pictures (webcams and such.)
We purchased the 3com ethernet card to go with it, and it works great with our home network.
The DVD, was an added bonus, but we haven't tried it out yet. So I don't know how great it is. We got the software decoded type.
The keyboard is also great, I prefer it over the one with our desktop. It is very comfortable.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend this laptop.
