I have been using this utility for 2 years, and I wonder how I downloaded before this program. This program is better then Get Right, and Go!Zilla. Let me tell you why. Download your files faster, I'll tell you later how they do it. Like all others its free, and has pausing/resuming capabilities, but this is where the similarity ends.

Features

1.Resuming/Pausing downloads
--In a normal environment- Your connection breaks, you have to download that file all over again. If you have one line in your house, and you want to make a phone call, you have to wait for the download to be over. If you have one of those internet call waiting programs, and someone calls you, you can't call the person that called you immediately. Also when your computer freezes, you have to restart and download all over again.

--When this program is running- Your connection breaks, you log on and continue from where you started. If you have one line in your house, and you want to make a phone call, you disconnect, and the when you're finished, you just resume the download. If you have one of those internet call waiting programs, and someone calls you, you can call the person that called you immediately. Also when your computer freezes, you have to restart and continue downloading.


2. Speed

-- In a normal environment- 3 megabytes on my modem takes 14 minutes. (56k)

-- When program is running- 3 megabytes on a 56k modem takes 7 minutes, they claim it's 300% faster, and I noticed that it was definitely faster, but not 300%.
----Why? It uses mirror searching, also it downloads in a multi-server mode, which is too complicated to explain.


3. Scheduler

--In a normal environment- If you have found 10 files, obviously you can't download them one at a time, so you have to bookmark all of the downloads. And manually press on them for them to download. Also you can't leave your computer at night, because it would be pointless, because only 1 file will download.

--When program is running- If you have found 10 files, you just click on them, and they're being queued, so the program waits until the first file is finished, and then downloads the next file. It is all automatic. Also you can even leave your computer at night, wake up in the morning with all of your files downloaded. Also you can set up the time to download. After the downloads are done, you can set it to auto disconnect, and shut down the computer. If your connection breaks, it will automatically re-connect, and continue to download your files.


4. Mirror Searching

--In a normal environment- You found a cool program, but the server is s-l-o-w, so you have to wait for so long.

--When program is running- You found a cool program, but the server is s-l-o-w, so automatically Download accelerator will find other servers with the same program, but with faster servers. Save your precious time.


5. Easy to use
Offers browser integration, so when you click on the file the program will automatically come up! Supports all kinds of formats- Mp3, zip, rar, ace, exe... You can even add your own (ex. if you want to download an .html file). Offers proxy support, Mp3 search!. Supports FTP also. Features different modes:

-For DSL/Cable people
-for 56k users
-for 28k users


Why is it better then Get Right/Go!Zilla
-This program doesn't spy on you. Get Right and Godzilla records where you visit and sends it to their database.
-Doesn't run on your taskbar
-2/3 times smaller in size. It is only about 700kb.
- Personally, easier to use.


Final recommendation
Go to download.com and download it now. If you don't like it, you can always uninstalled it, after all it's free!
