| Woolburr's Full Review: Gateway Select 800 Deluxe |
Being one of those people that likes to stay on top of technology, I typically upgrade computers every two years. This year's decision was made a bit more difficult by AMD introducing a chip that was the equal, if not the superior on those made by Intel. Gateway was one of the first major manufacturers to embrace the AMD Athlon processor. After a careful review of the AMD chip, I opted to purchase this system. Features include 2 27.5 gig hard drives, DVD-ROM, CD-R/RW, 32 meg video card, internal ZIP, and Tape-back-up, as well as 256 meg of RAM.
Straight out of the box, this system was a screamer. Graphics seemed to literally explode from the screen. Tasks that seemed to take forever on my old system loaded quickly and ran flawlessly. And most importantly, everything worked properly from the moment it was removed from the box.
I guarantee that my next computer will be a Gateway too.
