| tkerodd's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 22 Computer Speakers |
When I got my latest PC system, I knew I needed to get some speakers. I have a decent sound card. However, I knew that I would not be using my PC for many sound applications, except for games. To that end, I decided that I would not spend a lot of money to get my speakers. This altec set is what I got, and I am completely satisfied!
Several of my co-workers have had Altec speakers of various quality, and have been pleased. The Altec ACS22 does the job. No, they are not stereo quality, and you won't get them confused with your higher quality sets, but for the price they are very good. The sound quality is clearer than you would expect. I have played a CD on them, and the music sounds good. Games are good on these speakers too, with the voices and musical tones coming through loud and clear. As far as volume, these don't have much power. If you turn the sound up all the way, the quality does deteriorate somewhat.
For the cost-conscious consumer, these speakers are the ones for you. You get sound quality at a very low price.
