It has become very apparent to me that as of late, the one time "great deals" are fast becoming a "Dump Site" for off brand and marginal condition computer hardware. Sites that use to offer spectacular deals such as "Bid.Com" now has a beginning low bid which asks too much for the product to start with and therefore negates the real essence of an "Auction"!
Many times you can purchase the Computer Products cheaper at Staples or Circuit City if you took the time to compare prices (less delivery costs)! Unfortunately, much of the public is uninformed as to market prices and do not comparison shop before getting themselves seduced by the competitiveness of trying to out bid someone else during the auction process.
The other "Auction" houses are also falling into the same category. There definitely is a secret to being a successful bidder and you can still get a good deal if you are market wise and careful when purchasing online via these auction houses. So, as the old saying goes "Buyer Beware", do your homework and you can take advantage of what is offered out there instead of the other way around.
