Some hi-speed CD burners available today support a new technology called Burn-proof which is purported to do two things:

1) Prevent underrun errors while burning.

2) Allow multi-tasking so that you can work on your computer while burning a CD.

The QPS Que! burner loudly advertises this feature all over its box as it sits invitingly on the shelves of Macintosh dealers all over the country. The only problem is that Toast 4.1.2 (The latest version as of 12/29/2000) which ships with the Que!, the Lacie and every other Macintosh CD-R and CD-RW, does not support multi-tasking regardless of the unit you are using.

The software burns flawlessly, but be aware that any multi-tasking claims made by the hardware's manufacturer will not work on a Mac until Toast is updated and maybe not even then.
