Pros: Easy, mindless.

Cons: No control, inefficient.

I actually started out authoring web pages with claris homepage. As the months went by and my projects got more and more complicated I got more and more frustrated. Claris is like most other HTML authorization tools, it doesn't let you control how things are done. You would be surprised at the amount of people (that use claris) that don't believe me when I say you can do such and such with straight HTML. "But I can't do it with Claris Homepage!". It took me 2 days to learn HTML and 2 weeks to start writing fast, efficient, and well designed web sites. But you do not have to trust me about this. Look at any major web site on the internet and I can guarantee that they were written in raw HTML. Epinions.com was, yahoo.com is, etc etc. If you want real control over the content of your website, do not use any HTML authorization tools.
