Pros: Great price, decent support, fast delivery, powerful, included software, well organized disks and manuals Cons: shipped with Windows Me, numerous unexplainable crashes, noisy fan, bad floppy drive.
First of all, this computer, I must say, was a great deal for a computer from a major manufacturer with the reputation of Dell. I bought it totally online, with no human interaction, and I paid about $1380 with free shipping and no sales tax. I had to...

Pros: Very fast, plenty of room for extra hardware, easy to set up. Cons: Expensive!!
Hopping onto Dell.com and ordering a computer was a snap. All there was to do was to pick the type of computer i wanted: Cutting Edge, Advanced, or Affordable. From there, I could customize it as i pleased. I decided to go for the "cutting edge" model...

Pros: Dell has raised the bar and thought outside of the beige box. Cons: A couple of improvements might require a glance at the directions.
I have had the good fortune to have several Dell computers. I get technolust every couple of years and the lure of a faster processor is just too much. In the past, I felt like the speed improvement was less noticeable and the rest became nothing more...

Pros: Great performance and capacity. Cons: I still wish I could have paid less.
This was a good time to buy a new computer. With all the price wars going around, it wasn't hard to find a good deal on a good computer. I was able to come up on some loose ends and make the plunge to buy my fourth computer.
Got what I...

Pros: Fast with multimedia, nice design Cons: Pentium 4 chip pricey and not that much faster than Pentium 3 on some apps
Recently the local college where I live received a whole truckload of Dell Dimnesion 8100s to replace the Celeron and Pentium 3 based computers we used in the business computer and web design labs. Almost everyone commented on the sleek black and silver...

Pros: High speed. Good build. Attractive 19" flat screen. Excellent packaging and setup instructions. Cons: Pentium 4 & Windows ME are incompatible. The System is useless for anything serious.
I have been a loyal Dell buyer but my Dimension 8100 at 1.4GHz, attractive in many ways, has been my first serious disappointment from Dell. Most of this is probably not Dell's fault, though some is. The most likely explanation is that the Pentium 4...

Pros: Bleeding edge Pent4, screaming graphics, quality Dell components and assembly. Cons: WinME, WinME, and WinME. This is just not a stable OS.
I knew that going from a five year old Dell PentPro running WinNT to a brand-new Pent4 running WinME I might miss some of clunky sure-footedness of the old machine.
But I had no idea that Dell would ship an OS totally unfit for its hardware....

Pros: A porsche in the world of home computers: fast, powerful and loaded Cons: Software, hardware and support: all the stuff you'd expect Dell to have nailed by now
The mythology of Dell is legendary -- they do a billion dollars of business every day through their web sites, so they've got the end-to-end customer service and support thing nailed. But upon closer inspection, and now two month's worth of experience...

Pros: Looks great, very fast, lots of info on functionality and trouble shooting Cons: Power management problems with Windows Me, horrible service
We chose this system because it was fast, easy to upgrade, had a lot of space, and looked really cool (when we placed the order, the silver ion accents were standard - they've now become a $160 upgrade). Our problems began before we even got the...

Pros: Easy, fun, pretty, Dell has it all- this is the computer you want. Cons: Not enough time in the day to use it.
Grandma or gamer, Dell 8100 has a lot to offer. I went with a couple of small upgrades, an AltecLansing subwoofer and a DVD-Rom.
Other than that, the factory standards for this machine are outstanding, and will probably last the coming...

Pros: Good Customer Support, FAST, Economical, Solid, Durable Cons: Faulty Hard Drives At Times, Lag At Times, Freezes At Times
After purchasing the Gateway Perormance 1500xl series, my mother decided to purchase a 2nd computer to use in a network with the Gateway, and also a laptop. We looked at another Gateway for the job, but they were too expensive. we looked at Pentium III...

Pros: good looks Cons: technology not mature
If you are looking for a pc above 2grand don’t waste your money on a Pentium 4 right now. As of January 2001 the Pentium 4 does not provide you with great returns for the extreme premium you are going to pay. Why is this? Well it is because none...

Pros: Affordable, easy to use, speed, and amazing graphics. Cons: Not much speed difference between 1.4 Ghz and 1.7 Ghz
After a recommendation from a friend who had previously bought many Dell computers, convinced me enough to buy the new Dell Dimension 8100. Ordering online was not a problem for me. Finding things online was very easy and not a problem at all. The...
