Dell still rules!

by oritpro , Dec 17 '03
Pros: Beautiful case, quality and sensibly engineered, VERY fast desktop PC
Cons: A bit pricey but worth it.
For starters, I have not purchased a prebuilt computer in over 10 years. Being an IT professional I have always found it cheaper to build my own systems but have worked with Dell and many other computer vendors during the course of my career. Dells...

There is no perfect computer company

by zols13345 , Apr 07 '03
Pros: only a couple problems, good discounts for add ons, thats it
Cons: Case fan is obnoxiously loud, useless support staff, Dell should treat customers better
At first we bought a Gateway which malfunctioned. Gateway wouldn't work with us in fixing it, so it was sent back. Received full refund and went with Dell. Bought a Dimension 8200. Had to wait for a good deal on the system (free shipping and add ons)...

The Power, The Performance, The Price

by ozarkfarm , Mar 02 '03
Pros: Fast, attractive styling. Easy to personalize.
Cons: Limited upgradability. Case design.
Now.....

Until recently, 8200 was the top-of-the-line Dell series. Now it has been replaced with the 8250 series for marketing purposes. Although you probably won't be able to buy a new 8200, you may be able to find an excellent used...

excellent product at a fair price

by dalesky Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 08 '03
Pros: Legendary highly rated Dell quality and service and value
Cons: none noted
I ordered my latest Dell system a couple of weeks before the holidays. Shipping was free, and it included 2 rebates from Dell, totaling $220. Not much to dislike so far is there? 6 months of free Internet ISP's also.

I kept the price down...

Can't go wrong

by bazonic , Dec 12 '02
Pros: Good performance, beautiful architecture
Cons: loud, slow responding CD ROM drive
Very little of a computer’s performance is determined by the manufacturer. All the major Original Equipment Manufactures (OEMs, such as Dell, Compaq, Gateway, etc.) get their internal components from the same places. You’ll find the same Western...

Great all around computer system

by peterdmar , Nov 28 '02
Pros: Very fast and quiet for a computer system of this speed. High quality.
Cons: Expensive when compared with other systems of similar speed.
I had no problems with this computer right out of the box. It came on Nov.1,2002. Everything was very easy to setup because all of the connecting wires are color coded. The plugs on the back of this computer are also color coded. It booted fine the ...

by joshjake8888 , Nov 15 '02

Dell Dimension 8200 is classy and quiet

by jayneb , Nov 12 '02
Pros: The Dell Dimension 8200 is fast, quiet, and very smooth operation
Cons: Long wait on phone when checking on my online order
We have had our Dimension for 2 months and after living with a four year old Gateway G6, find the Dell a pleasure. The online ordering process was impressive. I received the 90 day no interest payment option and was able to order a wireless cable...

The AOL of computers: Good rep, but no value

by nbostaph , Sep 25 '02
Pros: decent PC, though not great
Cons: deceiptful marketting, no support, driver issues, and more
First, we should address why my opinion seems to differ from most you'll see. The problem with Dell is the same as the problem with AOL. Lots of people have never used anything else, but are happy enough with it so they tell their friends to get it....

Pros: Shipped right to your door, easy to finance and easy to use and customize.
Cons: Can be expensive to upgrade
I ordered this Dell about 6 months ago and decided to add optional features (such as more RAM) upon ordering. I know that computers are rapidly developing and I did not want to get left behind. I was easily approved for financing through their web site...

I bought the Dimension 8200 in October 2001, at 1600 dollars with a 1.7 ghz proccesor speed and 256 mb of rdram it wasn't a bad deal at all. All the parts were the best at the time and they are still working great. And the few questions I had about...
