Pros: Very quiet Cons: Customer service
I recently switched from a high end Compaq Presario to a Dell 8200. I was impressed with the how quiet the 8200 is. Beyond that I notice no difference in functionality although I did go from 128 RAM to 512 and 1.0 AMD to 1.8 Pentium IV. My issue is...

Pros: Easy to buy, easy to use. Reliable. Cons: expensive.
Not only is this computer amazing, buying it is simple as cake. In 30 minutes I researched my dell computer and bought it! Right over the internet. On top of that, there was a one day delay and they shipped my computer next day air, for free! I have yet...

Pros: Way-awesome looking, sound is magnificent. Cons: Bulky.
This space-age-looking desktop (matte black everything) draws "oohs" from my friends -- even from my teenager's friends, and they're hard to impress.
Not to be completely shallow, it's insides deliver on the promise of its looks. The processor...

Pros: Fast, stable and well integrated. Cons: Black plastic facade looks and feels cheap
Times sure do change quickly. The first computer I ever owned was a 8 Mgz IBM PS/2 that left a $3000 hole in my parents wallet. 8 Mgz! I think my abacus was faster.
But I digress. For about half that amount today, you can purchase what is...

Pros: It was free. Cons: Tech support.
I suppose this is a good computer, if you like doing a lot of things with your PC. Personally, all we wanted was something to balance the checkbook on (excel) and to write letters (word). Our old computer couldn't handle the thinking process anymore....

Pros: Fast system. Four available PC slots (in theory). Easy to open chassis. Cons: Dell only supports cards it installs at time of configuration, no SW support.
The Dell 8200 is in theory a very fast, customizable machine. There are gotchas.
The unit offers a wide range of Intel P4 processors in the higher range of the line. The reviewed machine had a 1.8 ghz processor.
Although rated a...

Pros: works perfectly, easily to mix and match components, very fast delivery, super fast processor Cons: occasional program crashes
I finally have a computer which is perfect for my needs. I love music, videos, and the internet and this computer does it all for me.
The ease of ordering and mixing/matching components is wonderful. I did not get a monitor with it since I...

Pros: only a couple problems, good discounts for add ons, thats it Cons: Case fan is obnoxiously loud, useless support staff, Dell should treat customers better
At first we bought a Gateway which malfunctioned. Gateway wouldn't work with us in fixing it, so it was sent back. Received full refund and went with Dell. Bought a Dimension 8200. Had to wait for a good deal on the system (free shipping and add ons)...

Pros: A very fast base processor speed. Cons: Can be out clocked in most games by an AMD 1.53 gig processor.
Well the Dell Dimension 8200 series processor, does have its ups and its downs. I myself own 2 computers, one that is a Dell 8200 series running an Intel Pentium 4 2.0 gig processor, and one is a custom build CPU sporting an AMD 1.53 gig processor. The...

Pros: Great system, no complaints. Cons: None that I can think of.
I purchased a Dell 8200 with Windows XP installed. Doubled the RAM and the HD size. Just love the thing. I even like the ease of Windows XP. It is fast and is quick to boot-up. One thing that Windows 95 and 98 lack. I got the P4 at 1.6 ghrtz. I upgraded...

Pros: Windows XP, P4, RDRAM,gorgeous sound, great value Cons: none
For a long time, I was a die-hard Mac user, but my Dad's new employer was Windows-only, so I got a Dell Dimension 8200. Here's the specs:
-1.7 GHz Pentium 4
-256 MB RDRAM
-80 GB hard drive
-16x DVD and 16/10/40x CD-RW
-19" P992...

Pros: Fast, Great design, RDRAM is a must otherwise will not achieve speed greater than 1.6ghz Cons: None
The Dell Deminsion 8200 is unbeatable in price range and quality, the only other major Pc manufactorer that comes close would be Gateway. If you are considering a Compaq, HP, Sony, or the like, keep your money in your pocket. The motherboards on these...
